Eurosportours and Phillips Exeter teamed up over the holidays for an exceptional ‘Road-trip’ to Northern Italy and Switzerland. Staying in a beautiful four star hotel on Lake Como, the Exeter hockey team and families experienced a trip of a lifetime! The Exeter team won the Challenge Cup Series against Ambri Piotta, beat Lugano, and 2008 Swiss Champs Zurich. All three clubs are Swiss Junior Elite teams which provide players to their perspective professional teams. Undoubtedly the hockey highlight was the 3-2 win over the Zurich Lions in their own building. The players and families also experienced the Swiss Alps towns Lugano and Zurich. Group leader A.J. Cosgrove remarked:

‘This was quite simply the trip of a lifetime for both the players and their families. We are all so grateful to have experienced one of the most picturesque regions of the world while playing world class hockey. The sight-seeing on Lake Como, Italian cuisine, historical monuments in Milan were sensational, and the trip to Venice will stay with us forever. We extend our gratitude to Mark Larkin who helped make this trip possible and Eurosportours who orchestrated the tours, lodging, transportation and Hockey.” Viva la European Roadtrip!!!!”

Eurosportours will be expanding to Helsinki, Finland in 2009 when Shattuck St. Mary’s teams will face off against truly the most prolific Junior Teams in all of Europe. ‘Shattuck’ continues to impress European teams through Eursportours. In a mere four years, they have gone head to head with the Elite teams from Russia, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Sweden, Bratislavia, and Italy. Director of coaching Tom Ward maintains that these trips are vital to Shattuck’s success and recent National Triple AAA Championships.

Eurosportours welcomes Ex-USA Olympic Gold Medal Champion Alana Blahoski to our team. Alana will head up the North American Women’s Hockey Teams who come to play and visit Europe for Eurosportours. Having played as a professional import in Lugano, Switzerland, and having worked as an ‘Assistant Coach’ for the USA Women’s National Team, Alana knows women’s hockey on both sides of the ocean!

The Northern European ‘expansion’ continues with Eurosportours now hosting teams coming to Italy and Switzerland from Finland, Sweden, and Great Britain.
